Hi,

i build a Website on scratch, its nearly ready, waiting only for some articles. You can see it under www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/ . When i get all articles it will move to www.xxxx.net.

When i activate the URL Manager i get my links, that works ok.

Two strange things i have:
I have an article on the Startpage of www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal, which has five sectors of the company. It is uncategorised, because its only for the Homepage or Startpage of Joomla. The URL Manager makes an URL for this article and changes the link of my TopMenu "Startseite" (=Home) to www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/startseite.
It would be nice, when i could delete this and the "Startseite" (=Home) Link would be the root of the page like www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/
But i couldn't delete it, so i renamed the article to "startseite" (=german Home/Mainpage). URL Manager will add it after i delete it automatically.

The other strange thing is, i have a slider on the Startpage. Under www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/startseite i can see it. But under root page www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/ it disappears.

I can't assign it, because "www.xxxx.net/fidesfinal/startseite" didn't appear on the Menu Assignment of the Module.

Hope you understand my problem. Sorry for my bad english ;-)

PS: What is better SEF: Startpage with www.example.com or www.example.com/startpage?

Hi

This is usually related to language configuration. Can you check on the "Content" tab of Joomla language configuration that the site is configured for German and not English (the default)?

After changing this, you should purge URLs in sh404SEF.

Hi,

there was no entry in the Content tab of Jooml language conf. I added German, than purged the URLs, but all the same. Root page has still no Slidermodule, only with the /startseite entry after the URL.

Very interesting:
When i select in the "Menu Assignment" of my modules "Only on pages selected" and select "startseite" it didn't work.
When i select in the "Menu Assignment" "on all pages except..." and deselect "startseite" it works!!!

This appears on all Modules on root page "startseite".

I don't know why...

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

The Content article under "startpage" has the name "startpage", too.

The Modules on root page:

-Slider Startseite
-Unterer Block

Hi

Here is what I found:

- you had indeed created a German language item under the Content language, but it was not published
- you had the language filter Joomla system plugin enabled, as if your site was multilingual.

After changing that and purging URLs, the front page seems to work ok, at least as far as I can see.

Using the Chrome dev console, I can still see 3 errors.

The first one should be easy to fix, you have cut/pasted the wrong Google tags manager javascript.

You cannot have the comment at the top and end of that code, those are HTML comments, they cause an error in javascript.
I'd suggest you drop this and use sh404SEF Google Analytics and Google Tags implementation instead, it's more reliable and future proof.

The other errors don't seem important, though it's up to you to judge.
