 Hi,
i see you notice about the problems between Falang and sh404SEF since Joomla 3.4.
I discussed that also with Stéphane Bouey, the developer of falang.
He told me that you're in discussion, but he was still waiting for response of the Weeblr Team to his last mail.
It was extremly helpfull if you also gave your best to fix these problems!

Bye Thomas

Hi

Thanks for the head up. We indeed don't have much demand for this compatiblity and this has a tendancy to push that question down to the bottom of the pile, which is no excuse of course, but we do have priorities.
I have just replied to Stépane, and I hope we can do something about this. I will leave this ticket opened for now, waiting for future updates.

mmh, and there was no relation to Josetta ;-)

Was there an migration path from falang to Josetta?

Hi

No, there's no relation to Josetta. Josetta is not generating nearly enough business to justify in any way endangering sh404SEF. I suspect that's what Stéphane says and believes, but that's not what's happening. This underlying topic is just too complex, and just chasing Joomla ML system is already big enough these lasts months.
In J! 1.5 times, Joomfish was big and used by everyone, but today, most (like 99%) users are happy with the Joomla ML system and that's what I see on my customers sites

I am not aware of any migration path from Falang to Joomla. You don't migrate to Josetta, as Josetta is not a multilingual system. It's only a translation interface, that goes on top of Joomla and bring all translations in one place. The point is exactly to avoid what you're seeing here: translations locked up in a 3rd party extensions. You can install or remove Josetta at any time from your site, and it'll keep operating the same.
I don't plan on writing a migrator of some sort from Falang to Joomla, as I have burned myself deeply when doing that from Joomfish to Joomla.

Currently I'm waiting on a reply from Stéphane to my last message, but don't expect too much action in the coming days, with the upcoming Joomla security release and then our release of sh404SEF 4.7, which has many changes and new features.
