Is it possible to remove Joomla user name and date published from the plugin generated 404 page without changing global Joomla article settings?

Please find an example below:

I need to remove 'By Natalia Melnikova Published: 06 October 2015' from this page.

Thank you!

Hi

Yes, you should do that both at the article level (the __404__ article) which has all those settings.

You should also do that at the menu item level. Joomla makes it a bit complicated, sometimes it uses the menu item parameters, sometimes it uses the articles parameters directly.

There's another solution if you want to give it a try. We are about to release a new version that gets rid of the Joomla __404__ article and category. It's now replaced with simple content directly entered into the sh404SEF configuration.
This is exactly meant to avoid all problems with displaying authors, date, titles, etc (and other problems as well).

You can download this new version from this page: xxxx

The content of your current error page is going to be copied automatically into sh404SEF configuration, and you should not have anything to do. The old __404__ article will be left there, but unpublished. Same for the "sh404SEF custom content" category.

Please let me know if you give it a try.
