hello,

on a vm site (3.0.10) i have set urls in sh 404 to link menu element to a producter's category product.

so in joomla it works if i put index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=63 in my url

with sh404, it works, but not as in joomla : it loads all the products of the manufacturer 63 + the desc of the category 63 (wich is not the same)

thanks

Hi

1 - How exactly did you setup those URLs in sh404SEF? did you create them manually? if Yes, do they have an Itemid in them?
2 - It looks to me like the Itemid is not correct or missing. Do you see a "Duplicates" count in one of those URLs?
3 - Please select one single URL to talk about and provide here both the full sef and the full non-sef as listed in the URL manager. Please also state the duplciates coounter. A screenshot would be perfect.

Yes :
In the menu i have set it to external link and input for instance accessoires-intelli-touch.htm
and in a fresh sh 404 i have create url wich contain an itemid (of the menu item)
index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=57&Itemid=331

no

Hi

Yes :

In the menu i have set it to external link and input for instance accessoires-intelli-touch.htm
That's totally NOT how Joomla works and how menu should be created. If you do that, the URL are not passed to Joomla and sh404SEF for processing.
When you create a menu item, you don't use "External link". You use VM menu type and select the correct one.
Even if you want to use "External link" for some reason, you never, ever, enter directly a SEF URL, you enter the non-sef URL (index.php?option=com_virtuemart...).
If you don't do that, then again, URLs are not passed by Joomla to sh404SEF for management.

and in a fresh sh 404 i have create url wich contain an itemid (of the menu item)

index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=57&Itemid=331
You don't have to do that normally. Urls should be created automatically. You have to do it now because you created the menu item as accessoires-intelli-touch.htm instead of the non-sef (index;php?option=com_virtuemart...)

yes , i know.

that is because in j 1.5 and vm 1.1.9 there were no urls direct to products of a manufacturer.
and the site is migrated ( /nouveau)

So there is another problem, menu items in vm link to the page of a manufacturer and then you will have to clic on a button to access to a product.

You could see the behaviour on test 3 at the bottom of the menu.

If you have an idea

Hi

I don't see any link called Test 3 on the xxxx site.

that is because in j 1.5 and vm 1.1.9 there were no urls direct to products of a manufacturer.
This is not about using external links. The problem was using a SEF URL instead of using non-sef.

Hi

The test3 url doesnt look good, it only says /details.html.

Then on that page, the (probably ) correct link is found: /manufacturer/accessoires-intellitouch.html

Look slike the non-sef menu item link is not what you need.

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

and we will do the others ...

you can delete some urls, i have them in a file

Hi

Well the test3 link you created was for a Manufacturer details, so that's what the link was showing.

I changed the link to a Category link, and selected a manufacturer and then purged URLs. That shows all the products from a manufacturer, that's what you want right?
Look at the test3 menu item parameters, you have many other display options by virtuemart.

Another thing I notice (maybe we have discussed that earlier, I don't remember): you are manually customizing the URLs so that they end with .htm instead of .html. I assume that's to keep the old URL?

Have you tried just setting '.htm' as the suffix in sh404SEF? I did a quick test and that seems to work fine?

Hi

glad to hear that. Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unecessary risk in the future.
