I've noticed that my webpage name is not added behind my article title's despite having this enabled in Joomla.

I also noticed that "|category name" is added to the title in my twitter card and open graph meta data.
(Although it doesn't show in the title in the browser)

I discovered that by using http://seorch.eu/ for my website: www.xxxx.net

It also notified me of missing Twitter Card Attribute:
twitter:url

Which can not be set in 404 sef currently, could you add this please?

seorch.eu also reports some issues with the hreflang tags, it appears that the default language doesn't have a hreflang tag which apparently it should (and it should include hreflang="x-default).

I hope this can get fixed soon.

Hi

1 - If sh404SEF is enabled, and we're talking about Joomla! content, it's sh404SEF that provides the page title. The Joomla! setting is not used, instead we provide a more complete one: https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/9nfFl7On3719hBj4L75BkwKiG5uNQ0.png

2 - The page title (in browser title bar) should be used the same in both OG and Twitter cards. That's what I see on all my tests. The "| Category name" is totally normal, it's part of the page title, but you do have options to customize it (see https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/Kui2vUTePAFMhGUFckamDtgEpPOqIu.png). Again, the page title is only computed once, and used in all situations.

3 - Indeed, we do not have this attribute yet, hopefully it'll be included in today's release, it only needs a bit more testing, but should be ok.

4 - sh404SEF is not involved in setting hreflang, that's a Joomla feature. It's normally done correctly, so we didn't see any reason to modify it, or add anything to it.

1. I'm currently using this option, but it could confuse users since they have to set the site name elsewhere and it doesn't get updated automatically ;)

2. I've turned off the "| Category name" being part of the site title, but it's still included in the OG and twitter card site title..

3. Glad to hear that :)

4. It would be nice to have an ability to add the suggested ones as override for the Joomla hreflang feature.

1 - Understood, but it'd be even more confusing if sh404SEF would take its config from 2 different places, which might be conflicting.

2 - I don't see that if I go visit for instance: http://www.xxxx.net/game-servers/halo-ce-custom-edition-game-server-hosting

Title is
<title>Halo CE (Custom Edition) Game Server Hosting - Elite Game Servers</title>

and so are Twitter and OG:
<meta property="og:title" content="Halo CE (Custom Edition) Game Server Hosting - Elite Game Servers"/>

<meta name="twitter:title" content="Halo CE (Custom Edition) Game Server Hosting - Elite Game Servers"/>

4 - I try not to add features (meaning settings, explanation, etc) which don't have real value. If the Joomla! hreflang feature is broken however, that's something that should be reported to Joomla on the J! issue tracker, even better with a code fix :)
It actually already maybe reported or discussed there.

1. Perhaps it's an idea to have a switch at both places which link to the same setting in the database?
2. Hmm, must have been a caching issue..
4. Alright, I reported the bug here: http://issues.joomla.org/tracker/joomla-cms/6809

I also noticed that Open Graph has support for this when I was reading up on the Hreflang tag at https://yoast.com/hreflang/ under the heading: "One more thing"

Thought it could be added to sh404 ;)

Hi

1. That'd be contrary to my experience. Everything that has 2 locations is an immense source of confusion. Best is to simply not repeat

4 - Yes, that's something for us. Put it on the tracker, thanks for head up!

1. But currently the settings in Joomla is completely ignored, which confused me ;)
Maybe it's an idea to add a note to that setting, or simply read the Joomla URL setting and add a note to the page title's page that the Joomla settings is also used.

4. Glad to hear that :)

1. But currently the settings in Joomla is completely ignored, which confused me ;)
It's ignored by sh404SEF if sh404SEF is enabled, and used by Joomla if Joomla is used. Just like all sh404SEF settings are ignored by Joomla if you disable sh404SEF ;)
