 Hi guys,

When i type in meta data in an article, it doesnt show up in the meta section of SH404SEF.

It's a pity since i then think that there is no meta data for a given article....when there is.

Is there a workaround ?

thx
best

Hi

Nope, that's very hard to do for performance reason. But really, that's an organizational choice you have to make.
For Joomla content, either you work with Joomla input fields or you work with sh404SEF. Using both is not really handy, exactly for the reason you mention. To be honest, usually you would work directly with Joomla fields.
Note also that even if you choose to enter description in Joomla, you can always override with sh404SEF.
And of course, the sh404SEF meta manager works on any page of your site, just not joomla com_content.

Rgds

Hi

Actually it's not "working" either with other extensions. What Acesef is doing is that they put their own input box onto an article edit page, but they do not connect with the Joomla actual meta data.

That's easy to do, and I actually have some code doing similar things (that's how I add characters counters on the same page). So the problem becomes a bit simpler indeed, until you have multiple URLs showing the same article, in which case they have to use the same meta data on multiple pages, which is not that good (same as Joomla actually)

As long as Joomla will not have something that resemble a "page", we will have this sort of issue.
Makes more sense to me to either use Joomla for meta data, or group everything in one place with sh404SEF.

Cheers
