 Dear Support,
I migrated a j2.5 Site to j3.
Unfortunately my Admin changed several urls in sh404sef J3 (which he did wrong) so that i have to rebuild all urls of the whole website.
Is there are Chance to copy the urls from sh404sef j2.5 (old website - still live) to j3 (New website temporary online on subdomain?)
I can Remember that the URL-Export-Import between 1.5 And 2.5 was Not working in the past.

Alternatively a Database Export/Import?

Thanks a Lot for your help

Best
Frank

Hi

Importing between 1.5 to 1.6-2.x was not possible because Joomla changed the non-sef URLs in between.

There are no differences in non-sef URLs between J! 2 and J! 3, so importing should be fine.

However, if you purge URLs on your new site, and assuming the sh404SEF settings are the same and content titles are the same as well, then the new URLs created are going to be the same also.

Unless you have plenty of manually customized URLs, that should be enough, and you can redo the custom URLs manually.

Lastly, and especially if you have the same version of sh404SEF on the source and target sites, you can also import/export.

Hi, thanks for your help.i have plenty of customized URLs and would like to import/export, because its much less work than do it manually.
when exporting:there was a warning: "Warning: only url records matching current selection criteria (components, language, ...) will be exported!"i cant see the possibility to select something. if i want to have ALL things exported (urls, metas....) i just go to the URL manager and click export!?
when importing in J3:
do i have to delete all existing URLs before import or will all URLs be overwritten? (i want that to)

thanks a lotfrank

Ah sorry, I misread your initial post. You are moving from 2.5 to 3, not from 1.5 to 3.

There is no problem copying in itself the format is the same. The problem will arise if the content (articles, categories) on the new site don't have the same ID than in the old site - and this is likely.
If you have the same ids for articles and category, then you can go and an export/import. Best is to have the same version of sh404SEF on the old and new site.

"Warning: only url records matching current selection criteria (components, language, ...) will be exported!"i cant see the possibility to select something.
When you display URLs, you have multiple selectors on the left side: component, language, with/without duplicates, etc
So the export function will only export the currently filtered subset of URLs. If you don't apply filters, then all URLs are selected.
Note that you have import/export functions also on meta manager. More details here.

But again, key point is whether the articles and categories ids are the same or not.
