 Dear support team,

I read your well structured documentation and activated sh404SEF for my website https://ww.xxxx.net, In general it works really fine.

One main reason for chossing sh404SEF was to get rid off the ugly multiple URLs a joomla article could be addressed.

But unfortunately the are still multiple possible URLs to call one Joomla article:

e.g.:
internal joomla article:
index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=122&catid=23&id=6&lang=de&view=article
old url befor activating sh404sef:
https://www.xxxx.net/index.php/manger-schallwandler/6-manger-products
new sh404sef url:
manger-products

So I would expect that (in case that no aliases were defined) the joomla article id 6 could only be accessed by https://www.xxxx.net/manger-products.

But in fact all the following urls are still working and are not redirected by 301 (checked with websiniffer)
https://www.xxxx.net/manger-schallwandler/6-manger-products
https://www.xxxx.net/manger-schallwandler/6
https://www.xxxx.net/6

So I still have the Duplicate Content issue for the google ranking.

May be I overseen a main part of the documentation, but I really tried to find out the problem without any success.

Do you have an useful hint for me again to get rid of the multiple url issue?

Best regards

Markus

Hi

https://www.xxxx.net/manger-schallwandler/6-manger-products

https://www.xxxx.net/manger-schallwandler/6

https://www.xxxx.net/6
I don't see how that's possible, unless those alternate URLs are also listed in the sh404SEF URL manager. Are they?

The only other option would be that you have selected "Use Joomla router" for at least one of your extensions under the "By Components" tab of sh404SEF configuration.

If you do that, you then use the Joomla router and the Joomla router unfortunately has exactly that problem.

Dear support team,

thanks a lot for your really fast response.

We are using j2store as shop software and we asked the j2store support team if there is anything to consider using sh404sef. They advised us to set the router for j2store under the by conponents tab to joomla router. But they did not note that this problem will be the result ;-(

Normally I would expect that only the urls generated by the j2store component are affected, but I will think about the problem and talk to the j2store stuff for a solution.

Thanks a lot for your support !

Hi

No, if the Joomla router is used even for just one component, it will always decode (wrongly in that case) an incoming request and report that it found a valid page for the request.

I don't know why j2Store say what they say, they have never consulted us on that, or reported a specific problem.

Dear support team,

I just created a ticket regarding this issue in the j2store ticket system.

I hope they will provide a router for j2store.

Best regards
