We're pleased to announce the release of 4SEO version 6.8.0. This is is a feature release, compatible with Joomla 3 to 6 without compatibility plugin.

Here are the highlights:

  • Increased timeout delay when fetching list of available updates
  • Allow home website address path section to include mixed-cases
  • Some links may be missed and not analyzed when using some 3rd-party templates
  • Should not show the help video button in footer when running the post-install wizard
  • 4SEO may report that it can import data from sh404SEF in cases where sh404SEF is not installed
  • Illustration on first run wizard is not showing if website is in a subfolder

Here are the highlights:

  • Better visibility in Sitemap settings for warning of sitemap submission requiring Google Search Console connection
  • Added details of which API the Google Maps API key should have access to in settings options
  • Added CSS workaround for nasty Safari CSS bug, causing a blank line to appear on some configuration pages settings
  • Sitemaps excluded and included images URLs should not allow entering fully-qualified URLs, starting with https://

  • Added warning about Google only triggering Event experience in search results for events with a physical location, not online
  • Detect if a structured data FAQ rule with CSS selector does not detect anything and do not output any structured data if so
  • Frontend editing does not sort images by size as expected
  • Frontend dialog broken after last update
  • Structured data output for the Course type is invalid if the provider is a custom value, manually set
  • Not identifying correctly duplicates for Hikashop pages on multilingual websites

We're pleased to announce the release of 4SEO version 6.6.0. This is a feature and maintenance release with several changes, improvements and a couple of bug fixes.

Here are the highlights:

  • Now disabling native breadcrumb structured data output on Joomla 5+ to avoid duplicate with ours, and also prevent some Google Search Console warnings.
  • Added support for either Person or Organization type in ProfilePage structured data rules
  • Added x.com to list of domains to not crawl by default
  • Now using native dialog element for deletion confirmation
  • Removed Weeblr Google Maps API key following Google Maps pricing change
  • Better cleanup of javascript and css files in media folder after installation or update
  • Moved help video button and breadcrumb to footer of admin pages, reduces visual clutter
  • Page title is now updated when navigating admin menus
  • Changed color on new version alert text, was not visible enough
  • When background analysis is triggered by a server cron, 4SEO now processes URLs in batches of 5 instead of 1 (which is used when analysis is triggered by frontend visits)
  • When using some versions of SP Page builder, a fatal error can happen when structured data generation is enabled
  • Custom author name in FAQ structured data record is not taken into account, always uses default author instead
  • Red vertical bar displayed for a second on the Sitemaps page
