Hi

Website: https://www.xxxx.org/pt/mais/publicacoes

I just renewed and installed the SH404SEF on our new website, all seems fine but link to our Phoca Download does not work when i in
Configuration  -> General -> Enable URL optimization set it to YES for SH404SEF to take over the URL Optimization

For now I had to disable it so they can download

Question:

Is there a work around?
I was using MijoSEF before and there you could disable the URL optimiation for any component, but have not found a simular solution. Any advise?

Thanks for your time

Hi

Is there a work around?

First we need to know what the problem is and what is causing it. PhocaDownload is commonly used with sh404SEF and has been for many years, so we need to find what's specific to your site to have this issue.

The first information is: what "does not work" actually means? what happens?

The second information to be provided is full and real URLs to pages involved which means: a page with a download link. We must be talking about the same page exactly.

I was using MijoSEF before and there you could disable the URL optimiation for any component, but have not found a simular solution.

There is of course the same - and more - within sh404SEF, it's under the "By component" tab. I very strongly advise against touching anything there before we know what's causing this. I insist on you not changing anything on that settings tab, it won't be possible to work if not in a default state.

As you have disabled sh404SEF, I think we'll need to have superadmin credentials to the site to be able to enable/disable it and compare the links and the behavior of PhocaDownload with and without it.

Best regards

Hi

Thank you for your quick reply

I would be very happy if you could have a look

https://www.xxxx.org/administrator/

user:  xxxx
pass:  xxxx

You can see that as soon as i enable URL Optimization the link in phocadownload breaks.
When not enabled, i click and it downloads
When enabled it kind of try to open it on the frontpage template (mid way down) where it says Link is not working

https://www.xxxx.org/pt/mais/publicacoes
On this link you find the link used that has been generated by Phocadownload and used in Widgetkit (components)
Further down on that  page you find the native Phocadownload link and they actually seem to work

So conclusion is that within Components -> Widgetkit, when i add the link there (as i want a nice presentation) it does not work

You are welcome try to enable/disable in error searching

Thanks

Morten

Hi

So conclusion is that within Components -> Widgetkit, when i add the link there (as i want a nice presentation) it does not work

Ah ok, I thought this was an issue in sh404SEF. So the explanation is simple really: all the links used in widget kits modules are wrong.

For instance, the "Relatorio de progresso 2020" (id=51), the link in the Widgetkits item is:

https://www.xxxx.org/component/phocadownload/category/15-annual-hpp-progress-pt?download=51:hpp-relatorio-de-progresso-2020

The correct link to use is (the one you have down below) is:

https://www.xxxx.org/pt/category/15-annual-hpp-progress-pt?download=51

So your widgets are using the wrong links, the one without sh404SEF I guess. How are those links created? how do you insert them? is there any cache maybe that you need to clear so that they are updated to the new ones?

Hi. Thanks for your reply

Hm, yes i am not sure why the link in the widgetkit was not working as it was generated directly from the phocadownload links below on the page, but Widgetkit got some kind of added string to the download link.
When disable the URL Optimization in SH404SEF it worked so i was a little confused.

I did a test now to recreate the links again and it seems to work without that additional string beeing added to the link.

I will test it out in big scale on the whole website later today and let you know if all OK

Thanks so far for your time

Regards

Morten

Hi

the phocadownload links below on the page, but Widgetkit got some kind of added string to the download link.

Most likely you copied the links before enabling sh404SEF. So they are just the old links and needs updating as you started to do.
