Hi! my name is Costy! unfortunately I did not successfully implement sh404sef! I use joomla 3.9.26! if I set (Use URL Rewriting) my site will not work (Not found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.)
I think the best thing to do was make a head-to-tail video! thanks and I'm waiting for an answer

Hi

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.)

This message indicates that the error is coming from your web server, not from Joomla. This would indicate that you did not added a valid .htaccess file on your server.

A .htaccess file is required by Joomla if you want to use URL rewriting. Joomla has a very good documentation on this here.

Usually, just renaming the htaccess.txt file in your Joomla installation to .htaccess will be enough to solve this as the standard Joomla file is ok for most types of servers.

Hi

Hello! after modifying it it disappears from the root but if I search for it it finds it

That is often the case if you are using FTP and your FTP software (Filezilla?) is configured to hide all files that start with a .

But it's only your FTP sofwtare, the file is actually here and your web server should use it normally.

Hi again,

I looked at the picture. The problem is that you a renaming the file to .htaccess.txt

The name is .htaccess, not .htaccess.txt

You have a new installation (https://xxxx.ro/weeblr/admin) user: xxxx, password: xxxx. I modified (.htaccess.txt). create contact.html, let's see if it works! Thank you!

Hi

You have a new installation (https://xxxx.ro/weeblr/admin) user: xxxx, password: xxxx. I modified (.htaccess.txt). create contact.html, let's see if it works! Thank you!

Have you solved the .htaccess file issue? all this is not related to sh404SEF, so once you have your server working, I can reply to any question you have regarding sh404SEF itself.

Best regards

Hi

Hello! I uninstalled joomla and deleted all the public_html! I created another one and did a new joomla installation! same problem!

Sure but this is not related to sh404SEF, I can only help you with sh404SEF, not with setting up Joomla.

You need to configure your .htaccess file correctly. Have you contacted your hosting company, they can probably help with the .htaccess content.
