404's in New site already more than 400

www.xxxx.com

Hi,

I recreated my site with the JA-MEGASTORE template.

Created in XAMPP then uploaded.

My host is one, com

Before I uploaded it, I deleted everything from my host www.xxxx.com such as database and data.

Now I see that I already have more than 403, 404's of which, among others, the Category ÄCCESSORIES I do not have. I deleted that data in the database at ONE.COM. But see that sh404sef generates them again. I also do not understand the other 404's, it seems as if this is all old data.

What went wrong and how do I get rid of it.

Kind regards Cees Duijndam

Hi

What went wrong and how do I get rid of it.

Nothing went wrong. All is normal. 404s are expected.

Now I see that I already have more than 403, 404's of which, among others, the Category ÄCCESSORIES I do not have. I deleted that data in the database at ONE.COM. But see that sh404sef generates them again. I also do not understand the other 404's, it seems as if this is all old data.

sh404SEF does not generate anything. It's not because you delete a category or an article that you stop having 404s about it.

Actually, it's because you deleted it that you have 404s. If you had kept the category, the site would respond normally to external requests.

Now that you deleted some content, when Google and others come back to check on the URLs, a 404 is triggered, as expected.

Google will usually comes back and check on past URLs for about a year for instance.

404s are not based on your site content, they are coming from other people and bots visiting your pages. It's not because you deleted some content that bots are stopping to try and visit that content.
