i have the problem, that my website display the message:

Assign a menu item to the VirtueMart component
if i activate the url optimization in sh404.
Can you help me to slove this problem?

This is really a Virtuemart issue - even if it happens only when sh404SEF is enabled.
I would suggest to make sure you start from a clean setup by:
- make sure all settings are default on the "By component" tab of sh404SEF configuration.
- going to the SEF URL manager and use the Purge button to delete all URls
- go to your site home page so that new URLs are created

What do you mean, what have you done? customizing the URLs? adding meta data? those are not affected by Purging.

Yes, if you manually selected the "main" URL for duplicates, that would be destroyed by Purging. That would also explain why you get that warning.
So again, exactly, what did you do manually?

I don't see any redirect on those screenshots. I can only see regular URLs with many duplicates. What exactly did you do? created redirects, on the aliases page?

My website have to menue bars with the same content.
The Top-Menue is a joomla menue and the menue on the left side is a virtuemart menue.
My site is new and actualy blocked for the search eingines. I heard that it is better, if i can do without the aliases (301 redirects).
Therefore i have merged all urls from both menus into one sef url.
do you think that was wrong?

But again, WHAT did you do? How? which feature did you use to do that? have you customized some URLs to make them match? have you added redirects? what did you do?

3.i have changed the name frome the url in menue 1 to the same name like the url from menue 2
example:
Topmenue url ist:de/funk-alarmanlagen/alarmanlagen-konfigurator/alarmanlage-w20-mit-kamera
i searched in the sh404sef under sef urls after the menue item, from the menue from virtuemart(left side) with the same content.
and renamed the url into the same from the topmenue. So that both menues have the same url (duplicate)

But in doing that you have now hidden the original Virtuemart menu item I'm afraid and this is why Virtuemart is not happy.
Because the URL are duplicates now, only the first one (we call it the "main" one) is used:
In that example, the main URL is one without menu item (Itemid=xxx). The second one is good though. So you might want to change the main URL to select one with a proper URL.
However:

The URLs were different? can you provide an example for "alarmanlagen-sets" -> W20
About purging: any URL that you modified manually will not be deleted. It's only the automatically generated ones that will be deleted.

Hi,
now i have delete all urls and duplicates and i used the purge button and I have deleted the joomla cache.
But the problem is still the same. The sh404sef have created all the short urls from self after deleting.
So i can not provide an example for you.
The problem is only in the menue on the bottom of the page.
Any idea now?

I have now found out that I can solve the problem by creating an entry in the corresponding menu that refers to the Virtuemart categories.

What do you mean? you did not have one before? Virtuemart requires that, I thought you had them.

Set the menu item to be hidden (under Link type).

if i set the menu item to hidden, the problem is back. I can only solve the problem if the button is visible or if i deaktivate the URL optimatzion in the sh404SEF settings.

That very much sound like a bug in VM if so. Display in menu just hides the menu item but it's still there and VM should find it.
Something is not quite right in that setup, please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterward, but it must have superuser level.

can you remind me where I can see the problem? I visited /de/lieferbedingungen and also multiple pages under the de/funk-alarmanlagen category:
- sh404SEF is enabled
- the category menu item is not visible in the menu at the bottom of the page
- there's no warning from Virtuemart
