After updating SH404SEF, we're now getting the following error showing on all pages (back-end and front-end)

- To regain access, log in with FTP or your hosting control panel, locate the folder /plugins/system/sh404sef and rename it to plugins/system/sh404sef.disabled
- Download a new zip file from the download page and install using Joomla installer
This error means that some parts of sh404SEF are missing. Any other update, anything noticeable before the sh404SEF update? Also, which sh404sef version where you running before updating?

As for the version, it was running 4.17.0.3932

Glad it's sorted out now. This kind of issue is very rare especially coming from a not-so-old version. The operation in step #1 can be applied to any extension that breaks your site entirely.
