Hi, so I created a BLOG menu item with featured articles. When i click the article, it shows that the page is associated with the HOME page, instead of the BLOG. But Some of the article, works just just fine???
The one that works fine has a url like this:
xxx.com/blog/esports/title-page-name

While the one that shows on the wrong menu item has a url like:
xxx.com/esports/title-page-name

I don't understand why some works perfectly, the others don't? In addition, this problem occurs suddenly. Yesterday, every article works fine. And now, some of them shows this changes.
Is there anyway to fix this?

Hi

This is due to sh404SEF fighting duplicate content generated by Joomla on most sites. When Joomla creates multiple URLs for the same content, that's bad for SEO and so sh404SEF groups all Joomla-created URLs under one single public URL.

Usually, those URLs variations created by Joomla differs by the menu item used by the URL. sh404SEF has to pick and so it uses the first non-SEF URL created by Joomla as the official,"main" URL. On most sites that's fine, on some sites, it can lead to what you experience (there would no problem if Joomla/extensions did not generate all those duplicates!).

How can it happen and why only now? might be that you "Purged" URLs in sh404SEF. Might also be that you added some module on your home page, or just links to some articles from the home page, change settings in templates, .... Hard to say.

How to fix:

1 - Find the faulty URL in the SEF URL manager. I am using the /park-site/park-blog/ page from Joomla default sample content here.
2 - It will have a number in the "Duplicates" column

3 - Click on that number in the duplicate column, this opens a popup:

You will have several non-SEF URLs listed there. The first one is selected, it probably either do not have any "Itemid=xxx" or it does have an "Itemid=xxx" but xxx is the Itemid (menu item id) of your home page.
Below you'll see other duplicates, and one of them has the proper Itemid value, that of your blog menu. Click on the "star" symbol in the "Main" colum to make that correct URL the selected one and that should solve the problem.

If you prefer, you can look at:

- this page of our documentation
- this video of the process (although for an older version of sh404SEF, it applies exactly, only the visual aspect is different).

Best regards
