Hi
When I try to update in my Joomla (v 3.9.18) the sh404 component the system return me an error like this:
install componenti filed and Joomla\Filesystem\File::delete: Failed deleting inaccessible file LICENSE.txt

Is problem of gap version? Can you send me v 4.19 ?

Hi Raffaella,

Is problem of gap version? Can you send me v 4.19 ?
This error is not related to sh404SEF. It's a combination of a permission issue on your server and a test that Joomla runs before doing updates. You can Google it and you'll find a number of such reports. It was discussed on the Joomla project itself but they decided to not change the behavior.

The steps to solve involve:

1 - Making sure file permissions are correct on your server. You can use Admin Tools from Akeeba for that, please see this tutorial

2 - If all else fails, a fix must be applied to Joomla unfortunately. Please see Option #5. Last resort on this tutorial as well.

Another thing would be to talk to your hosting company and maybe point them at this discussion on Joomla project, they may be able to understand what's the configuratio on their server that's actually the origin of the problem.

Hi

Glad to hear that. If you have time, would be good to investigate the root cause of the problem as that fix you made will be overwritten with next Joomla update. Or at least make a note on how to solve :)

Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unnecessary risk in the future.

Best regards
