Hello, This website: xxxx.com is a hikashop store for selling safety products and PPE. On the main menu if you click the "PRODUCTS" menu item, you'll see the large dropdown open up. The issue happens with the "Parts & Accessories" menu items. Under "Shower & Eyewash" > "Parts & Accessories" and "Personal Protection" > "Parts & Accessories", these are two different links, with different aliases both in the menu manager and in the category itself in hikashop. Somehow SH404SEF sees these two as duplicates when in fact they are separate pages with separate content. The offending SEF URL: https://xxxx.com/en/parts-accessories/category
https://xxxx.com/administrator
user: xxxx
password: xxxx

Hi

Have you tried deleting that URL with its duplicates (button "Delete with dupl." in the SEF URL manager toolbar)?

sh404SEF does not build URLs for Hikashop so if this happens with sh404SEF but not with Hikashop (you tried with Enable URL optimization set to "No", right?), it may mean that an older URL has been left in the database after changing settings.

Hi again,

Please note:

- I cannot access the admin, it's password protected
- Please be sure to never use our real email address when creating an account for us (or for other extensions support for that matter), just use [email protected] or anything else. It happens - a lot - that we keep receiving newsletter and messages months after a support request has ended :)

Best regards

Hi

these are two different links, with different aliases both in the menu manager and in the category itself in hikashop.
Is this the only category where this happens? I would think you're doing this for all or most categories, right? is this category different from the others?

Best regards

Yes, this is the only instance. These are the only two categories that have the same name. What bugs me is that the aliases in the menu manager AND in hikashop categories area are both different but it still uses parts-accessories as the alias. The menu item Showers & Eyewash > Parts & Accessories has this alias in the menu manager: parts-accessories-1 and in the hikashop category area it has this alias: parts-accessories. The menu item Personal Protection > Parts & Accessories has this alias in the menu manager: parts-accessories-ppe and in the hikashop category area it has this alias: ppe-accessories. As you can see there are 4 different aliases there and somehow the alias used in the SEF URL is the same.

Hi

I'm not sure menu aliases are used in building the URLs, this would explain that.

One thing you can do is set Hikashop, under the "By component" tab of sh404SEF to:

1st Column = "Use default handler"
2nd Column = "Use router.php with menu item"

Then delete the faulty URLs with all duplicates and check how they are re-created after that. Would be best if you ran those tests on a test copy of your site though.

Hello, thank you this fixed the issue. We tested your suggestion locally first and then moved it to production. Works great in both locations. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Hi

Glad it's sorted out, it seems that Hikashop does require inserting menu items in the URLs. Closing this ticket now, feel free to open a new one as needed. If you do so, please mention this ticket number in the new one.

If you created any superadmin account for us, be sure to delete or block it now to avoid unnecessary risk in the future.

And please feel free to post a review on the JED,it helps and we appreciate it!

Best regards
