Hi

Which version of sh404SEF are you running, exactly and how did this happen? after a one-click update? restoring a backup?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm running sh404SEF version 4.20.3.4174
I'm not sure when it exactly happened as I haven't been in the Joomla backend of the site for a while.
I was unable to install any extension updates and then ran the debugger.

I get the error: "sh404SEF requires the shLib system plugin to be enabled, but you appear to have disabled it. Please enable it again!" - but it was enabled. I tried to disable and then re-eanble it to no avail.
I tried uninstalling the sh404SEF component too, but it says it is unable to uninstall it. Next, I went into Plugins and deleted the shLib file that was in there. I also tried to reinstall version 4.20.3.4174 and it says it couldn't install the shLib file.

I'm at my wits end. I can't even open up sh404sef witout receiving the " sh404SEF system plugin has been disabled or has failed initializing. Please enable it again to use sh404SEF, with Joomla! plugin manager "

Please help!

So you mean you had issue with other extensions? You were not able to install other extensions updates?

That message is more the sign that the actual plugin is not there, the files have been removed.

You don't want to uninstall any Joomla extension if some parts of it are missing or failing. Because the uninstall script cannot run either.

That's expected because the files are not there but the plugin is still marked as available in the database, which is why it's not installing it again.

Which is normal as shLib is missing.

What to do:

1 - Download shLib from this online folder
2 - Install it and enable it if it does not auto-enable, which it should
3 - Install again sh404SEF

Hi!
To skip to the chase, without detailing everything else in reply form,I just installed the shLib plugin you gave me the link to and activated it.
Now everything is working perfectly again!!!!
