 Hello !

I have bought your module because we have several issues with meta-details.

Most importent, when I look how Linkedin is showing the website (https://www.xxxx.eu/) it shows the wrong image..

For example: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-6655966804063633408-QuVb/

Look at that link, you see a picture with text 'EACH'.

But it has to show the logo of the website www.xxxx.eu , you can see the logo in the top-left of the mainpage.

If I enter https://www.xxxx.eu in a WHATAPP chat, it shows the correct LOGO.

Can I use your module to tell linkedin to use the correct LOGO instead of the picture it shows now ?

With kind regards,

;-) Arthur

Hi

Most importent, when I look how Linkedin is showing the website (https://www.xxxx.eu/) it shows the wrong image..
That's expected, your site does not include OpenGraph tags (OGP) in your content. Those are invisible tags similar to meta tags that tell Facebook and many others, including LinkedIn, what's the title, description, image and more that they should use when sharing content. Twitter uses a different set of tags called Twitter Cards.

If those tags are not present, each site you shared content to will do their best to select an image, with varying results.

sh404SEF will insert those tags automatically and can detect the correct image to use most of the times. You'll also be able to manually override selected images on a per page basis. See the Social SEO configuration documentation page for more details.

Be aware however that when installing sh404SEF, at least with default settings, some or many of your URLs may change. On an already well indexed and ranking site, this needs to be addressed, either by changing sh404SEF defautl configuration or by using redirects. On a rather recent site, that will not be an issue.

I have looked at the documentation, but no info about how to fix the Linkedin issue...
Please tell me what I have to do to fix this.

We really need this fixed, it's the website from our MAKERS4ALL organisation to help with protection tools for Corona..

With kind regards,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Please tell me what I have to do to fix this.
I told you so in my first message. I can see that you have not enabled OGP tags and have not set any custom OGP image.

What have you done?

Best regards

Bold ?
A mistake, that was not my intention ;-)
I have installed your module, activate some things but I don't understand how it works.
I see some facebook and twitter things, but I need to have linkedin fixed...

But maybe I have waste some money, would be nice if you could help a bit...
And yes, I have read the manual: but it's not clear..

How can I enable OGP tages, where and how must I add an OGP image ? In your module ??

The module is maybe very good, but for dummies it's not userfriendly ;-)

Regards,

Arthur

Hi

I have linked to the specific page of the documentation. You need to read it in full, as well as the next page which replies exactly to your question about adding a custom image, if needed.

it's not userfriendly ;-)
It is user friendly but it's an SEO extension. You need to be familiar with SEO if you want to go above the basics, automatic setup. Learning about OGP is a requirement for that and it has nothing to do with the extension itself.
You also need to learn how to check your OGP tags to decide whether you need to add a custom image or if the auto-detected one is fine. You can do that by just opening the page source code and searching for the OGP tags. You can also use one of several browser extensions. We actually created one for Chrome and Firefox called SEOInfo that will tell you what the tags are (and many other things).

Once you have enabled Social SEO, set Automatic image detection and checked the OGP tags you get in your pages, you'll be good to go for Facebook, LInkedIn and several others.
