Hi,
According to google, on pagination pages ie:Page-2.html , the canonical rel needs to be to itsalfe and not to the main page (root page ) like with sh4040sef.
Is there any way to do that with sh404?

sh404SEF does not put any canonical tag on categories or similar pages. If you have a canonical link on such a page, it's added by your template or another extension.

That's really a big SEO mistake, we would never do such a thing.

It is a category page with pagination to next set of articles from the same category
And when you go to the page-2 of the pagination, the canonical of that page referring to the root page and not to itself like google recommended

Hi

Ah ok, no problem then , what I said above is correct, sh404SEF does not put any canonical tag on these page.
Actually, the only place where sh404SEF inserts a canonical are:

- on the home page
- on Joomla article "single article" display.

Those are the only pages where we can be sure that the current page is the canonical page. We do not put any other canonical automatically (you can add some yourself manually of course)
