I know that I can manually edit the sef url to remove the item id from the alias. How can I code a rule to make that happen automatically for a component?

Thank You,

Fred

Hi

What type of content is that? with default settings on Joomla content you should not have item id in URLs.

In all case, please provide:

- full site URL
- full and real URLs (both SEF and corresponding non-SEF) showing the problem.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply,

The site is www.xxxx.com....it is offline and in development.

login with admin xxxx and xxxx as password.

The component is iCagenda. I want to have an optimized url for each event. I am unclear about what to do with duplicates.

I really appreciate your assistance.

Hi

If this is not one of Joomla standard components or one of those we directly support (see config options under the "Extensions" tab of sh404SEF configuration) then sh404SEF will use the saem router.php file Joomla SEF uses to build URLs. The file comes with your component (iCagenda) and is the one directly building the URLs. We only record them.
As such there is no way to automatically configure the URL structure. for that component.

You can of course manually customize any URL but I assume for a calendar you have many events and that's not practical.

Best regards
