Hello just a question.
Within the 404 requests manager the link with the most hits is the index.php file, how do we fix this?
Within the configuration, under 404 error handling - the override Joomla 404 error page is on.

Hi

The "index.php" text will be displayed when a non-sef URL generated an error. For instance, /index.php?option=com_xxxx where com_xxxx is a component not installed on your site.
Or when you have requests meant for other system than Joomla.

We do not store all those "junk" requests details and so they all appear under "index.php".

There is nothing to do about it.
