I'm running into an issue where sh404sef is grabbing the wrong og:image and twitter card image for RS Events Pro calendar events.

Social SEO "enable on all pages" is yes

Here is the event
https://www.xxxx.com/event/35-bald-eagle-watch-jan-6.html

Facebook debugger is showing the og:image as: https://www.xxxx.com/images/Straw_Sculpting_event_8.26.18.png
You will notice that the image path sh404 is using to find the og:image is different from the correct image url below.

The correct image url is: https://www.xxxx.com/components/com_rseventspro/assets/images/events/thumbs/700/xxxx.jpg

Interestingly: og:image IS showing correctly for k2 content on this website. example: https://www.xxxx.com/lodging/cabins-cottages/white-pines-inn-cabins.html

More Interesting.
I can confirm that sh404sef is getting the proper og:image for RS Events Pro on another website that is running the same joomla extensions.
Working example: https://www.xxxx.org/event/109-new-event.html
working og:image url: https://www.xxxx.org/components/com_rseventspro/assets/images/events/thumbs/1200/xxxx.JPG

I checked the various Joomla settings between xxxx.org and xxxx.com and they are both the same.

Do you have any ideas? This is driving my client's social media person crazy.

Hi

I looked up that page, /event/35-bald-eagle-watch-jan-6.html and I can see the following: the OG image selected is:

https://www.xxxx.com/images/straw2018.jpg

However this image is nowhere to be found on the page so it cannot have been selected automatically by sh404SEF which means:

- you have set an image for that URL in the URL manager, similar to:

Of course, all of this is only valid if you use the latest sh404SEF version, 4.15.0. If not, please update before doing anything.

The correct image url is: https://www.xxxx.com/components/com_rseventspro/assets/images/events/thumbs/700/xxxx.jpg

Please note that there is really no "correct image" for sh404SEF. We use an algorithm by which we look for an image inside the page content. Depending on how you configured sh404SEF, we then pick either the first image or the largest image within the full page source code.

Interestingly: og:image IS showing correctly for k2 content on this website. example: https://www.xxxx.com/lodging/cabins-cottages/white-pines-inn-cabins.html

Again, there's no "correct" image for us, that's just not possible to do. We only apply the algorithm mentioned above.

I checked the various Joomla settings between xxxx.org and xxxx.com and they are both the same.
Joomla settings are not involved in this, Joomla knows nothing about OGP or Twitter Cards. The only relevant settings are in sh404SEF and/or the corresponding extensions, K2 or RS Events.

Best regards
