For some reason I can't seem to change the H1 of the page. Could this be caused by some setting in SH404SEF?

How do you try to do that and what happens instead?

sh404SEF is not really related to the page content. The only way we could interfere with that is if you have multitple H1 on the same page. If that happens, and you have enabled the option "Change multiple h1 to h2" under the "SEO" tab of sh404SEF configuration, then we will change all he H1 to h2.
