 Hello,

I am on joomla 3.8.3 on one of my website and I tried to update sh404sef from 4.12.0.3715 to 4.13.2.3783
The installation went alright but at the end I got a warning saying :
MYSQL server does not provide support for UTF8 MB4 character set. Database tables will not be using it.

What does it means and why did I got that warning ? My database is a MYSQL v.5.5
What should I do ?

I wanted to update Joomla from 3.8.3 to 3.8.5 but I guess I will wait for your answer before that.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi

What does it means and why did I got that warning ? My database is a MYSQL v.5.5
It means that your MYSQL server does not provide support for using UT8MB4 encoding of database content. It's used to safely store extended characters and while not a requirement is the recommended way of storing content.

What should I do ?
This is a deficiency in your MYSQL setup, so you should talk to your hosting company to improve it.

Again, this is not an absolute requirement but totally recommended.

Rgds
