 Hey there.

We use your extension a lot and this is the first time that the 404 error page is not displaying.
https://www.xxxx.org/

So if you use a bad url: https://www.xxxx.org/asdfasdfd.html the error page does not display. Instead the homepage is displayed.

Details:
Joomla 3.8.5
sh404SEF 4.13.2.3783
K2 2.8.0
Admin Tools Pro 5.0.0
Rocket Theme - Gemini Gantry 5 template
Caching and performance optimization using JCH and Cloudflare

In sh404 configuration > Error Page > Error page en_GB I have Itemid to use for the 404 page set to the About Us menu item (not the homepage).

I have tested with performance caching turned off.
I have checked to make sure there are no malformed aliases for the homepage.
no joy.

Any thoughts?

This website uses the same Joomla/extension stack as our other sites. This is the first time I have run across this issue with sh404.

Hi

First off, please make sure that the "301 redirect from Joomla SEF to sh404SEF" setting under the "Advanced" tab of sh404SEF is disabled. When this is enabled, we ask the Joomla router for a possible valid URL for the incoming request, and unfortunately the Joomla router does not do this very well (it will accept URLs that are 404s).
