 Hi there,

Thanks for providing the downloadable package, just a follow up question please. We've got a use case from a customer:

"we want to use sh40SEF everything but the Joomla articles links. How we can configure it so that it doesn't route those links".

I've attempted quite a few configuration options to see if this possible but I keep getting 'Bad karma' pages in the front end (see attached screenshot)

Steps to test

* Install a sample joomla site with `sample-data=learn` database installed:
* An example url before SEF404 is installed:
/using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/24-joomla (breadcrumb: home > Joomla!)
* Install SEF404 component and turn on 'Enable URL optimization'
* Visit the page in the front end again, the url changes to:
/joomla/joomla/
* Attempt to configure content to use default Joomla router (see attached screenshot)
* Purge all existing SEF Urls
* Visit the page in the front end:
/using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/24-joomla/
* Use the site navigation to return to home > Joomla article

Expected result:

Links to Joomla! article are returned to pre SEF404 state:
`/using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/24-joomla`

And that links work, content is displayed

Actual result:

SEF links are returned to pre SEF404 state however pages display the 'bad karma' output instead

Hi

Not sure about why this would happen. Doing the exact same steps works fine for me and the url /using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/24-joomla is rendered normally, without a 404.

I can make the following comments:

1 - Have you updated to Joomla 3.8.5? there were some router bug fixes in it
2 - Are you using Modern or Legacy routing (Note I just tried both and that URL works fine in both cases).

My current dev site is not exactly a pristine raw install, so I will setup another fresh copy to try reproduce.

Hi

Yes, I just installed a fresh Jooml 3.85, put sh404SEF 4.13.2 on it, set to Use joomla router for com_content and visited /using-joomla/extensions/components/content-component/article-category-list/24-joomla straight away: no 404, works fine. Did not set the .htaccess at the time, so had /index.php/ but works the same without it

Thanks for getting back to me,

Okie I notice that you are using a different version of the component to me, I've currently been using `com_sh404sef_4.13.1.3756_j3_full.zip` I'll download the latest version and give this another try.

Would you be able to provide screenshots of your configuration screens so I can try and emulate them locally?

Cracking!

Just downloaded and installed the latest component and I have been able to configure the content component to use the default Joomla router.

Many thanks for your support in this matter!!!!

Hi

OK, glad to hear that. The Joomla router is in constant flux these days and there are many adjustments to be made because of that. Joomla 3.8.5 reverted an entire set of changes to the router that were made in Joomla 3.8.4 and I actually fear this will break again many things.
