Hello,

I update sh404sef yesterday to the new version 4.13.2.3783. I was using the one before : 4.12.0.3715
Since this update all the 404 errors are redirected to the home page ? Is that normal with this new version?
What should I do to have my customised 404 page back ?

ps I am on Joomla 3.8.3

Of course not! we would never do this, this is a terrible mistake from an SEO standpoint.

1 -

What should I do to have my customised 404 page back ?

Do you mean the sh404SEF error page or is it a page from your template.
2 - Is there an actual redirect ie the address in the browser bar changes from site.com/bad-url to site.com?
3 - One thing you might want to check is be sure that the "301 redirect from Joomla SEF to sh404SEF" option (under the "Advanced" tab of sh404SEF configuration is set to No.
When it's enabled, we use the Joomla router to try parse a URL, and the Joomla router can indeed do that sort of things.

To reply to your question :
1- I use my own 404 error page which is located in my template called error.php
2- when I write a bad url in the address in the browser then there is actually a changes from site.com/bad-url to site.com

3- No too sure what to change my sh404sef is in french and I have "Redirection 301 du SEF JOOMLA vers SEF" but not "301 redirect from Joomla SEF to sh404SEF" Do you think it is the same thing ? It is set to YES on my sh404sef. It is this one I whould put to NO ?
I've attached a capture of the advanced tab of sh404sef to be sure we are talking about the second line that should set to No. Do I keep the first one "Redirection 301 de non-SEF vers SEF" to No as well ?

Is the change to the No for "Redirection 301 du SEF JOOMLA vers SEF" will affect lots of URL in my website. Is it a new "parameter" that you added with this new version ?

Yes, that should be set to no.

This means you are not using sh404SEF error page.

It will have any effect on URLs or general operation of the site. It's only useful when one has a site with Joomla SEF URLs and switched to sh404SEF. As URLs might be different, it's better to have automatic redirects from the old URLs to the new. If your site previously had sh404SEF, there is no need for that feature.
