#4435 – sh404SEF and Tromboscope

I don’t know if in this case I should be contacting sh404SEF support service or Tromboscope Contacts Pro support service. Tromboscope is a “Joomla’s Contacts component manager”. I just noticed that sh404SEF is discovering 2 URLs for the same categories (one for each category and subcategory). One created by Tromboscope another by com_contacts. If the URL has a / at the end it directs to the com_contacts page (That one that I don’t want) and if the URL does not have the / at the end it directs to the page created by Tromboscope. The thing is that those 2 URLs are basically duplicates. They have the same information but are created by different components and because of that sh404SEF do not consider them as duplicates. Is there a easy way to fix this? Maybe redirect all URLs with / to the URLs without it? There are more than 100 hundred URLs in that condition. Do I have to manually redirect each one? Please refer to the screenshot to check a example.

PD: sorry to keep asking question but it seems so be that sh404SEF discovers issues in lots of Joomla! extensions.

The issue with com_conacts is that Tromboscope Contacs Pro use all the content from com_contacts table in the database (all contacts and its correspondent info) so I can't eliminate that default Joomla! component. The point is that no menu item is created that is directly related to com_contacts, only Tromboscope Contacts. I created a ticket with the developer and he will take a look. I'll get back to you if necessary. But if there is nothing he can do, is it possible to easily redirect with sh404SEF all the URLs with / at the end to the URLs without it? Both are SEF URLs.

Ok I found the cause. There is an option for each menu item (Layout tab) that is called Category. It has 4 options. If I choose the option that includes a link to the category, it triggers the creation of com_contacts links with the / at the end. That is because that link (on the category name) is a link to the category but on Joomla! Contatcs component. With just one menu item that include a link to a category on com_contacts, it propagates the creation of URLs to all linked categories. The issue is that those are duplicates in content. There is the one with the / at the end (com_contacts) and one without it (Trombinoscope) for each category. The thing is that shs404SEF is a good thing to identify those issues. In this case it is sort of a bug of Trombinoscope Contacts Pro and the developer already acknowledge it . Thanks.
