 Hi There,

I enabled some settings in Data Recording like Record alias usage and Record shURL usage the table #__sh404sef_urls_src has ballooned to 8Gb. Is it safe to truncate that table without affecting anything?

I have since disabled the settings that I enabled and purge urls but the table did not reduce size. Or is it connected to that table?

Thanks,

Jackson

I forgot to ask, I noticed there is a Trace data in URLs and it contained a lot of data. I think that was the result when I enabled Record Source. How do I delete that from the table?

Hi

1 - Yes, it is safe to truncate that table (don't delete it, just truncate it).

Those settings do not affect this table. This table is only used to store debugging data, which is enabled by the "Record URL source" setting (hence the table name).

See above, this table is only used for debugging, and it depends only on one setting.

It's not a good idea to purge URLs on a live site. This will cause 404s to visitors while URLs are being rebult. Purging is only required when you setup the site and may decide to change your URL structure for instance.

Record source should never be used in production, on a live site. It's a debugging feature only. You truncate only the entire table.
