Hi there

sh404SEF is  redirecting administrator functions as in this url

/administrator/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&layout=edit&id=221

The problem is that the URL is a preview of altered text in JSN Pagebuilder but sh404 seems to want to redirect and either shows me a different page, or stays 'busy' .. Is there a way to turn off sh404SEF in Administrator or to ignore anything with /administrator/index.php in the URL ? I thought it did not work in admin console..

Hi

sh404SEF is not enabled in the administrator section of the site, it cannot do any redirect.

What do you mean by "redirecting administrator..."? what is the target URL of the redirect?

Thank you for your quick response.

The target is the url this ..

/administrator/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&layout=edit&id=221

It is a preview pane built in to PageBuilder that shows the formatted text.

I meant redirect functions while in administrator mode, as in the preview editor above as in the link above.

If you look at the two attachments, the first one shows the correct information on the right hand (layout view) pane, this is as loaded into the editor. The second image shows the same pane, after I have simply centered the text, it has now been redirected to a category list.

You said there is a redirect. A redirect is when you click on one link, and you are sent to another. So what is the source URL of the redirect and what is the target redirect of the URL?

If you look at the two attachments, the first one shows the correct information on the right hand (layout view) pane, this is as loaded into the editor. The second image shows the same pane, after I have simply centered the text, it has now been redirected to a category list.
This is a screenshot of another extension. How is sh404SEF involved in all of this?

As I said before, sh404SEF is not enabled in the backend.

OK, I think you are right. The page showing is the 404 page not found error, so looks like is a problem in JCE or the pagebuilder.

Hi

I am not saying sh404SEF cannot have an influence, but indeed we do not transform URLs at all in the backend, so the exact origin of the issue should probably first researched by the developers if the extension you are using.

I will leave this ticket open in case you need to add something. It will automatically close in 2 weeks, if no further comment is made.

Best regards

Hi there,

I managed to fix this problem, it turned out that there was an errant rule in mod_security which incorrectly detected an SQL injection during page edit, and blocked the request. So this post can be closed.

Could be worth noting the mod_security problem if others get really weird things happening on their website.
