 Hello:

When I tried to go to my website this morning, I got the following error:

0 - syntax error, unexpected ''index.php?option=com_k2&I' (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE)

When I disable sh404SEF, the site comes back up again, so I am running the site without sh404SEF until I can fix this problem.

Any thoughts on how I can find where the problem is?

Hi

Not really, especially if not line number or file name is mentioned.

I would suggest first you set "Joomla error reporting" to "maximum", this may yield a more detailed error message.

Shooting in the dark, I would also suggest you disable "URL disk Cache", from the Advanced tab of sh404SFE configuration, if it is enabled.

When I disable the URL Cache, the website is again accessible, but pretty slow now.

Hi

Hmm, I'm surprised it makes a real difference, this is one of the old features that were considered really useful but should be less now, what with faster MYSQL servers, the database access is not that much of a problem usually.

1 - How many URLs do you have in total recorded by sh404SEF?

2 - The cache is stored in /components/com_sh404sef/cache. You can always simply delete any files you find in the folder (with FTP) to start using it again. But you may encounter such issue again (this happens when writing to the disk is not fast enough to cope with the speed required based on visits and URLs created). A more reliable alternative is to use MemCache to store the cache instead of a disk file (that can be set in shLIb system plugin parameters), but you will need to get a memcache server setup on your server, which may not be that simple, or may not be even possible at all if, for instance, you are on shared hosting.
