Hello, on this website http://www.xxxx.fr/ the "Demandez un devis" and "Mode d'emploi"menu items have cutoms url http://www.xxxx.fr/devis-travaux and http://www.xxxx.fr/le-principe-avoirundevis there is few minutes i discover that this url are not correct there was http://www.xxxx.fr/demandez-un-devis and http://www.xxxx.fr/mode-emploi
I suppose it was a cache problem so i try to clear the cache and this solved the problem.

An idea ?

Thanks

Hi

This would rather indicate a duplicate URLs issue:

/demandez-un-devis is probably the original URL

and

/devis-travaux

is the customized URLs. If Joomla created multiple non-sef URLs for the same page, usually with varying Itemids, you need to customize all of them, not just one.

So you should go to the URL manager, search for demandez-un-devis, and customize the newly created URLs, and all its duplicates it has multiple ones.

Same for mode-emploi

Hi

Ah then it's not an sh404SEF issue. We can only output links that are found in the database, and thus displayed in the URL manager.

Hi

Links without a record in the URL can be only output:

- by sh404SEF, if you have set one component to "User Joomla router" in the "By components" tab of configuration

- absolutely any extension on your site, as they can simply output a link directly without passing through Joomla JRoute and sh404SEF

- maybe you have a hardcoded link in one of your article, or a module or similar

It depends basically on where you saw that link. In a menu, a module, an article?

Hi

i have change the menu alias item in devis-travaux and le-principe-avoirundevis
Menu alias are not used to build links, If those links are for com_content articles, so that doesn't have any effect (on links built by sh404SEF)

Are you sure devis-travaux is not in the URL manager? (search without the slashes / )

I don't see how caching could have anything to do with it, as those links need to be created anyway at some point. And your site has been running for a while now.
So if the links exists, but are not in the database, it could only happen if you deactivated sh404SEF for a while or such.

HI

All of those are 404s (the "newurl" field is empty, and there is a date time recorded).

It's actually a confirmation that sh404SEF doesn't have that URL in the database, as it triggers a 404 if you request it.

Hi

Me neither, but I'm pretty sure this is not output per sh404SEF.

One thing you could do is get a monitoring service, and set it up so that it checks that the text href="/devis-travaux" is present on your home page. They will alert you if it's missing, that way you can gather more information if this happens again. I may suggest uptimerobot.com, their free account will do that.
In addition, it's pretty good to have a monitoring service for any professional website anyway.
