 Hi,

I just upgraded my Joomla website to the latest version of sh404SEF: http://www.xxxx.com

I've two issues:

1. My settings are to force lower URLs, but in fact it does not force it.

2. If I add or remove the / (forward slash) from any URL, and then check the canonical tag, I see it does not eliminate the duplication issue (it keeps both version main URL).

Please help me solve the problem.

Admin URL: https://www.xxxx.com/administrator/
User: xxxx
PW: xxxx

Thank you

Hi

1 - I have not been able to find uppercase or mixed URLs on your site. Where is it you have this issue?

2 - We do not insert any canonical. That's done by Joomla. You can override manually the canonical for any URL from the URL manager, even though that's pretty tedious.

What should happen though is that we automatically redirect to the right URL, ie from /additional/stain-removal/ to /additional/stain-removal

But in your case nothing like that can happen, probably because at this moment you have basically disabled sh404SEF:

I temporarily enabled sh404SEF for com_content checked that the redirect from "trailing slash" to "no trailing slash" works fine. I have then returned that setting to "Use Joomla router" as you set it, as URLs are not exactly the same when enabled.

Hi,

Regrading 1: If I try to use a mix of upper & lower it works. That causes duplication issue. Try any sub URL, and change some of the URL to upper and you will see it works. Your extension (I thought so) should force it all to lowercase, but it doesn't.

Regarding 2: I thought your extension will prevent duplicate URLs. If I can add a / to the end of each URL, and it works (no canonical pointing to a single page without it) then what is the point?

Thanks for your help

Hi

OK, did you read my previous message where I said that you have entirely disabled all sh404SEF features by selecting "Use Joomla router" for com_content?

Enable back sh404SEF for com_content, and all things work as expected (remember to clear the Joomla cache in between tests).
