Hi there,

I notice that on the home page of our domain http://www.xxxx.nl, in the page source, I have a line
meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"

In all other pages with content there is no meta for follow or nofollow etc.

In my joomla config I have Robots set to Index, Follow.

I have 2 questions:
  1. Is there a setting in SH404SEF that overrides the follow, index directive? if so, how can i switch it off?

  1. Could there be errors in my SEO due to the fact that i also use SiteMap Pro?

Thnks,

Hi

This is not something that has been put there, and you should absolutely remove it, it blocks Google and others to index the entirety of your site, most likely.

This is not added by sh404SEF, unless you specifically asked it to do so, by adding noindex, nofollow as the robots input field using the Home page meta button in the toolbar.

I can't say anything about SiteMap pro, I think it won't do that be default, but it may be doing it also if you have set it to do so. Its possible, as I can see in your home page source page that you are NOT using sh404SEF for robots, description, and Open graph meta data, so this is probably coming from the same extension.

Lastly, another option is that this was hardcoded in your template for some reason. You can test that by temporarily switching to another template, one of the default Joomla ones.
