Hi,

I am considering using sh404SEF on a site that has quite a lot of existing redirects using the URL redirection feature within Admin Tools Pro.

Will I need to migrate those redirects to sh404SEF or will the two components work happily side-by-side, so I only need to add new redirects to sh404SEF?

Also, I have been using a couple of other components on other sites that I manage and may decide to use sh404SEF on them:

Structured Data Pro component by Tassosgr and Open Graph Tags plugin by perfect-web.co

Will there be any clashes between sh404SEF and these other components? Does sh404SEF do all the things that these items do anyway?

Best regards,

Mark W

Hi

Admin Tools redirects should work fine. Note that if you have many redirections, you might be able to reduce that to a few lines with our generic rules (ie redirect /old/* to /new/*

We have extensive OpenGraph (and Twitter cards) support in sh404SEF, it'll probably be redundant to use another plugin.
As for Structured data,we also have extensive support for all global page SD: breadcrumb, contacts, sitesearch, etc We do not handle individual page "content" SD, as this is usually best left so far to extensions providing the actual content, but that will certainly evolve.

One further question,

I have one site that used SobiPro. This creates its own cache of urls for the database itself. Are there any issues using sh404SEF with SobiPro please?

Best wishes,

Mark W

Hi

This creates its own cache of urls for the database itself.
I can't comment on that specific feature of SobiPro, I am not familiar with it. sh404SEF will operate properly with any extension that comply with the Joomla routing API.
