Installation and updates
Before attempting to install 4SEF on your site, please review its technical requirements.
Do not try to install in case something don't fit, you may break your site. Pretty much everything is reversible, but it may cost unrequired efforts to do so.
Configuration wizard
After installing 4SEF for the first time on a site, a Configuration wizard is displayed whenever you go to the dashboard. Once you complete the few steps in that wizard it will no longer display. The wizard can also include an sh404SEF import wizard (see below)

If you install 4SEF on a site that has sh404SEF installed, it will offer you to run an Import wizard. The import wizard lets you import sh404SEF URLs and configuration. See this page for more details.
You can also run the sh404SEF at any time, from the SEF URLs page toolbar.
Upgrading from sh404SEF for Joomla 4+
If upgrading from sh404SEF because you are moving to Joomla 4+, you need to switch to 4SEF BEFORE upgrading to Joomla 4+ and BEFORE uninstalling sh404SEF.
Installation
As with any substantial change you make to your website, we certainly encourage you to perform installation and setup on a test copy of your site. When everything is tested, you can then move on to production.
Download
You may download 4SEF as a single zip file from our download area. Though 4SEF is made of many parts (a component and various plugins, multiple languages), the zip file contains all of them.
Installation
4SEF is installed as any other extension, through Joomla! installer. Installation of the single zip file downloaded from our site will take care of all dependencies, and there is no additional step to take after installation, aside from initial setup.

Updates
4SEF is updated often. Updates are signalled through the regular Joomla updates notifications system. In addition, a notification will be displayed in 4SEF control panel in case of new version.
If you open the notification, the full changelog of that new version will be displayed.
Updates are performed as well through Joomla one-click updater.
Update key
An update key is required for any update.
Obtaining your update key
You can find your update key on your weeblr.com dashboard. The update key is unique to your account and can be used for all our products.
