Statitics gathering configuration

4SEF can track the number of times a given URL is rendered successfully (a hit), which helps you evaluate:

  • how much work your server actually does (how many pages it must render)
  • which pages are hit most often by visitors

If you do not plan on using, this information, you can disable collection in the settings.

Two types of data are collected:

  • individual hits per each URL - displayed on the SEF URL list page.
  • global hits per day - displayed on the dashboard

Be aware of what is collected

Make sure to read the Statistics accuracy listed here. What 4SEF collects is different from what you will get from your usual Analytics solution. Not less accurate, just different.

Page hits data is normally collected indefinitely as the volume of data is very small. However, you may want to delete them, for instance when moving a site from testing to public, or after making significant changes to its content or structure.
